These video clips from the March 3, 2020 Council meeting clearly reveal Pierce’s complete disdain for the people she’s supposed to represent.
Julie, you were voted into office by the citizens of Clayton to do their business. You were not voted into office as a springboard for your personal aspirations. The majority of the folks who live here and the reason it is such a wonderful place to live, is it is one of the remaining bastions of civility and beacons of what family life should be. From our concerts in the grove to our Fourth of July parade, we are children and family oriented.
We are willing to pay a premium to keep it that way. Just ask us!! We want to keep Clayton a small and vibrant community. You are seriously out of touch with the majority of your neighbors. The boogey men you are attempting to create do not exist. We do not need your protection from them. Please be on our side during these changing times. Concentrate on the reasons we can keep out town, small and quiet not reasons to destroy it.
You want affordable housing, but your job was to represent the people in Clayton. Your are out of touch with the families in Clayton. Families who have worked very hard to afford a house in a safe small community. The housing crisis is due in part to all the immigrants, and some of them illegal who have come here in the last 25 years, who have been welcomed here! We do not want high density housing, more traffic , more crowded roads, more crowded schools. more water shortages, and electricity shortages. There are many places in this vast country that has more affordable housing, so you want to lower our property values to equal them?
Pierce and Catalano are corrupt. As are Pete Laurence and Howard Geller, who were on the council with Pierce when all this zoning change shenanigans started 10 years ago.
Housing project aside for a moment, you really seem to have a deep hatred for the citizens of Clayton. Whether you agree or not your disdain for people who are taking time to try and be part of the process is chilling. Your tone is condescending at the least and sounds downright hateful. Even if you did not approve this project this is definitely not what any public servant should sound like.
We need to recall Pierce and Catalano. This is serious, whether all residents know it or not. All that we hold dear is being destroyed. We sacrifice too much to live here, only to have egomaniacs destroy it. Property values are going to be disastrously affected by this awful turn of events. RECALL NOW!
